Sis was playing with dolls
on
the front screened-in porch,
and
I was playing with my army men
in
the living room.
She
asked me if I wanted to play.
So,
I took one of my army men
and
used a section of tissue paper
as
a cape, securing it
with
a rubber band
around
its neck.
He
became Superman and
flew
out to the porch.
In
the meantime
her
doll,
who
was ten times larger,
was
in trouble.
She
was being mistreated
by
Ken.
Superman
saved the day
by
beating up Ken
who
also was ten times larger.
Barbie
dumped Ken
for
a superman
who
was ten times smaller.
No
wrong was ever too big
for
Superman to right,
but
this love stuff
was
too much
for
even him to handle.
So
up and away he flew,
back to the living room,
far
away from
the
larger-than-life world
of
glitter and romance.
